It's Christmas Time!

Each year on the Friday night after Thanksgiving, Bloomington marks the start of the holidays with its Canopy of Lights ceremony and the lighting of the downtown square. There is the singing of Christmas carols and Santa makes his first appearance of the season.

This is always one of my favorite activities to kick off the Christmas season. The mood is festive and the thousands of twinkling lights through the first of the year always bring warmth no matter how cold the weather gets at this time of year.

We bundled up (although, luckily it wasn't too cold this year) and headed downtown, joined by Grandma Jody.

On the way back to our car, we walked by the fire station and there were a few firemen relaxing outside. The garage doors were open and when Keegan pointed out the firetruck, one of the firemen invited us to take a closer look at the trucks and encouraged Keegan to get in the driver's seat, if he wanted. What a treat for Keegan to end the evening!

  1. Nice pictures. I especially like the last one. All he needs is a friend to push the pedals and he's ready to go!
