A New Smile

Remember my most recent post about Keegan's first visit to the dentist and my joy about his clean bill of dental health? Yeah, well, I blogged too soon.

Easter weekend, Keegan fell and knocked his two front teeth loose. This prompted a panicked call to the dentist on Easter Sunday and a return visit to Dr. Matt's office earlier than expected. One of the loose teeth actually came out at breakfast before we headed in to see Dr. Matt. When we got there, they did x-rays to make sure the whole tooth had come out and no other damage was done.

We found out his other top front tooth was loose and would likely come out early too. Dr. Matt assured me that it is not uncommon for pre-schoolers to fall and lose a baby tooth or two early, that the x-rays showed his adult teeth waiting in the wings and that probably the only inconvenience we would have to endure were some front toothless smiles in school pictures over the next few years.

So, here you have it, Keegan's new smile #1.

And his even newer smile #2, after his other front tooth came out tonight.
