Weekend Visit to Cousin Renne's

Uncle Jun from California came to visit last week. He arrived late Wednesday night after Keegan was asleep and I didn't tell him that his uncle was coming. Keegan woke up on Thursday and headed into the family room. He started playing with some of his toys and then said to me "Look!", while pointing to the orange crocs on the floor. I responded, "What are those?" and he exclaimed "Uncle Jun-Jun's crocs! I'm going to look for him." Now granted, my brother's crocs are bright orange and hard to miss, but I am amazed every day at the things that Keegan remembers and how much information is packed in that still developing almost 3 year old little brain of his.

We ventured east for a road trip to Pittsburgh over the weekend to visit Uncle Bobot, Auntie Bon & cousin Renne. Renne and his school team were running in the Catholic Grade School Cross Country Championships so we went to cheer him on. He ran his heart out on the challenging hilly course and did great, beating his time from the previous year.

Keegan loved getting to ring a cow bell while rooting his cousin on, hanging out in Pittsburgh and getting to play with all of Renne's toys. We managed to avert any major meltdowns, despite the long car ride. Going through a couple of tunnels, over some bridges, seeing a few airplanes, and the invention of the portable DVD player helped. All in all, a quick but fun family filled weekend!
