St. Paul Fall Festival

Our church, the St. Paul Catholic Center, organized a fall festival on Sunday as a fundraiser for some of the student parishioners who are going on a mission trip to Haiti during their winter break. Hosted by Mr. & Mrs. G on their property east of town, there was much farm fun to be had with a hayride, a tractor, horses, and yummy snacks!

Mmmm...Popcorn!
Keegan was excited about seeing the horses, but it was a different story when he got up close. After a little bit of coaxing he was willing to pet the horse but not so interested in getting on the saddle. His reply when we asked him if he wanted to ride was "No, not now. After the hay ride."

So off we went to wait our turn for the hay ride. We had gone to a birthday party the day before where we got to go on a hay ride too. Keegan loved it and could not wait to go on another one so he climbed right on in, plopped himself down in the middle of the hay, and said "Let's go!"

I'm ready!
After the hay ride, we went back to the horse and Keegan was still a little hesitant. Mrs. G was great and warmed him up by first letting Keegan walk the horse with her.

He then helped Matt with the lead.

And finally joined me up on the saddle for his first horse ride (and mine too)!

Thank you Mr. & Mrs. G. for a fun fall afternoon!

    1. It was a lot of fun Lisa! The original date was the day before, which we couldn't go to, but they got rained out and rescheduled for the next day - lucky for us. I'll let you know if they do it again next year!
