No, I was not cheese, nor was Keegan a mouse with wings - contrary to what my brother Leonard thought when he first saw the Halloween picture of us in costume!
This year's Donovan costume theme for Halloween was Wizard of Oz and we were fortunate to have Grandma Jody join us in Halloween attire for trick-or-treating! With our little flying monkey, I was the yellow brick road (under construction) and Matt was a yellow brick road construction worker. Our friends, Doug & Peter, who have hosted us the last 2 years were out of town this year, but they still let us borrow their neighborhood (thanks guys!), which is much more friendly for trick-or-treating toddlers than our neighborhood.
We attempted to meet up with our IAC friends, but unfortunately got separated. We were also joined this year by Keegan's 2 friends from school. Despite the cold weather, the kids were troopers and we stayed out for more than an hour.

After trick-or-treating, we reunited with our friends at our house for some Halloween eats and some energetic toddler play. Before the evening ended, we of course had to take our annual Halloween photo with the kiddos. Now that most of them are active pre-schoolers (with the exception of little baby Hazel - the newest addition to the Thompson family!), it was a bit more challenging to keep them in costume after trick or treating and get them to all sit still on the couch at the same time for a picture. Can you tell?!?! Special thanks to Heather for the group photo, since mine didn't turn out.

hAHA,We feel like we so missed out this year. But there is always year. I love how much Keegan loves little Hazel. He wanted to sit next to her and pet her. :) She looks like a little stuffed animal. Love ya Eunice
ReplyDeleteI know Lisa - I felt like Halloween wasn't quite the same this year too since we all got separated. Here's to next year and baby Hazel might even be walking by then!
DeleteI'm glad you guys had a good time. Wow, I love that cool IU pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteWe missed you guys this year! I got our jack-o-lantern template from the IU website - not bad, eh for my first attempt?!
